New English words

New words and abbreviations have entered the Oxford English Dictionary!  Examples of these words comprise convenient short forms and everyday words: ‘jel’ (jealous), ‘izakaya’ (from the blend of Japanese verb, to stay ‘i’ (iru) and sake outlet, sakaya), ‘al desko’ (eating at your office desk), ‘mahoosive’ (‘massive’ and a somewhat close respelling of the first syllable of ‘huge’) and ‘permadeath’ (a situation in video games whereby a killed character does not appear).
